2005 Rugby House expands CJU across both the north and east quadrants of London. Rugby House forms the Conference Consortium with seven other organizations.


smart-scheme-logo2004 The Volunteering Scheme re-named SMART Scheme and expands across 14 London Boroughs. Rugby House awarded the tender for a tier 2 Drug service in Havering – named First Stop.

 

2003 Tower Hamlets Alcohol Service merges with Rugby House. Rugby House awarded the tender for Munster Road Day Programme in Hammersmith and Fulham

 

2001 ARC develops a primary care service in Westminster. Fulcrum re-locate to new premises in Leytonstone High Road

 

1999 Rugby House take over the Redbridge / Waltham Forest Drug Day Programme and re-name it Fulcrum

 

ravenswood-back1998 Ravenswood Road, a residential care home for Redbridge & Waltham Forest is opened. The scheme is for both alcohol and drugs. Rugby House’s first venture into working with drug users.


1997 10 Year Anniversary of Rugby House held at the Houses of Parliament hosted by the Minister for Health – Frank Dobson

 

1995 The Alcohol Resource Centre in KCW is established with a centre opening in Ladbroke Grove.

 

1994 The Criminal Justice Unit created out of the MAS. Foulden Road stage hostel is opened in partnership with New Islington and Hackney Housing Association.The Volunteering Scheme is established in partnership with Addaction

 

herbert-back1993 Herbert Street, a house and bungalow sharing a courtyard, opened as the third registered care home. Herbert Street becomes the first and only specialist alcohol and drug service for men and women with mobility difficulties. The partnership is with Community Housing Association. MAS’s Black Outreach Programme develops into New Roots, funded through statutory sources in Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster.


1991 The two residential care homes at Agar Grove & St Augustine’s Road are opened.

 

1990 The Crisis Centre (now Long Yard) is opened by HRH Prince Edward.

1989 Two residential homes are secured in a partnership between Camden Social Services, Circle 33 Housing Trust and Rugby House.

 

1988 Creation of the Mobile Alcohol Service (MAS) – a specialist alcohol service offering client interventions, training of staff and development of alcohol policies across mainstream voluntary sector services in the West End.

 

1987 The Rugby House Project is created as a Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee, named after the building chosen for the Crisis Centre (and owned by Rugby School) in partnership with Circle 33 Housing Trust.

 

1986 A consortium of 13 agencies and individuals is formed to develop the West End Drink Crisis Centre.;
