The Rugby House Management Committee

Oversight and guidance of the work of Rugby House is provided by this dedicated team of experienced management committe members.


paul-jenkins-squarePaul Jenkins (Chair) is a director of Westminster Primary Care Trust in London leading the local NHS modernisation programme. Paul has been involved with Rugby House since the mid 1990’s as a commissioner of services and later joined the Management Committee in 2001, taking the chair in 2004


sue-bakerSue Baker has worked for over 20 years in the drug and alcohol field including 12 at national level at Alcohol Concern. Sue is now a freelance consultant working mainly for the voluntary sector. She is a non alcoholic trustee of Alcoholics Anonymous and a Non Executive Director of Haringey PCT. Sue joined the oommittee in 1999.


liz-curran-square Liz Curran (Treasurer) is a chartered accountant and is currently Finance & IT Director of Look Ahead Housing & Care. Prior to this she was Deputy Finance Director of Circle 33 and she has held senior finance positions within the NHS. Liz, a Committee member since 2000, became Treasurer in 2002.


anne-hooper-squareAnne Hooper is Chief Executive at Trinity Hospice in London. Previously she was Director at City Roads for 12 years and worked extensively across the commercial sector for 15 years. Anne was also Vice Chair of the Standing Conference on drug abuse and a member of the Management Committee since 2000.


sandra-machadoSandra Machado is director of EACH, a substance misuse agency working primarily with BME communities in West London. For the last 25 years Sandra Machado has worked within the voluntary sector with marginalized groups in India, Bangladesh & the UK for Oxfam, Action Aid & Save the Children. She joined the committee in 2004.

John Podmore has worked in the Prison Service for over 20 years, governing: Belmarsh, Swaleside and Brixton prison.  John left Brixton in May 2006 to head a project for the Estate Planning Unit in NOMS. A Trustee and Director of ‘Release', he has written for the Guardian, the British Journal of Forensic Practice, and the Prison Reform Trust. He is also an external lecturer at Birmingham University. 


iain-taylorIain Taylor (Vice Chair) is Director of Programme Management at Circle Anglia, one of the country’s largest housing associations. He has worked in housing development for 17 years and has been on the Rugby House Management Committee of Rugby House for 14 years.
